Does your GLP-1 price go up with your dose?

Usually, yes, if you're paying the manufacturer's self-pay price. Your prescriber decides your dose, and it may change over the course of treatment. With most brand-name GLP-1 self-pay programs, the monthly price changes with it. Below are the 2026 prices by dose, the conditions attached, and the questions to ask any service before you start.

Foundayo™ pill (orforglipron), through LillyDirect or TrumpRx. The lowest dose, 0.8 mg, is $149 a month. Until December 31, 2026, 2.5 mg is $149 and 5.5 mg is $199, temporarily reduced. Higher doses cost more; check LillyDirect for the current price.
Why it matters for your budget
A starting-dose price is the number you see first, and often the lowest one you'll pay. If your prescriber moves you to a higher dose, a Wegovy® price can go from $199 to $349 or $399, and a Zepbound® price from $299 to $449, or $699 if a refill is late. Plan around the price at the dose you'd actually be taking, and check when any introductory price ends.
Where the price stays the same
Some all-in telehealth programs charge one monthly price whatever the dose. Everlon is one of them, for both GLP-1s it offers.
At Everlon, semaglutide is $129 first month, then $249/mo from month 2, if prescribed, and tirzepatide is $315/mo, if prescribed. The first-month semaglutide price is an introductory price for your first month, not a dose price. From then on the monthly price is the same at every dose, and it includes the provider evaluation, check-ins, dose adjustments and standard shipping.
The medication prescribed through Everlon is compounded by a state-licensed 503A pharmacy. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved. That is a real difference from the brand-name products above, and for some people, especially anyone with insurance coverage, a brand-name product is the better answer.
Questions to ask any service
- What is the monthly price at each dose, not just the first one?
- Is there an introductory price, and when does it end?
- Are there refill-timing rules that change the price?
- Does the price include the prescriber, follow-up and shipping, or only the medication?
- Can the prescriber decline to prescribe? (If nobody can say no, walk away.)

Why do brand prices change with the dose? The manufacturers set different self-pay prices for different strengths. The tables above are their published prices as of September 25, 2026.
Does a flat price mean a flat dose? No. Your prescriber decides your dose based on your health and your check-ins. A flat price only means the bill doesn't change when the dose does.
Is a prescription guaranteed? Never. A licensed provider reviews your health history and prescribes only when clinically appropriate.
